“Untogether” Trailer

Here is the first trailer for upcoming Untogether, it looks fantastic and we can’t wait!

Article from W Magazine

There’s perhaps no rom-com storyline more beloved by Hollywood than that of a friends-with-benefits relationship that comes crashing down when one or both participants develop feelings for the other. It was done in 1989, with When Harry Met Sally, and twice in 2011, with Friends With Benefits and No Strings Attached; and now, Jamie Dornan and Jemima Kirke are stepping into the doomed setup in Untogether.
The first trailer for the indie film was released on Friday—about a month before its simultaneous theatrical and VOD February 8 release—and depicts, in under two minutes, the initial one-night stand, the subsequent no-strings-attached arrangement, and the eventual confession of actual feelings that are to be expected from the genre. In this particular case, Kirke’s character Andrea appears to be the first to catch feelings, much to the chagrin of Dornan’s Nick, who was wary from the beginning: “You’re not going to get obsessed with me, are you?” he asks after suggesting they continue their fling.

According to the official synopsis, Andrea is “a writing prodigy fully consumed with destructive vices, navigating Los Angeles without a driver’s license or credit card,” while Nick is a doctor and author, famous due to his “heroics in the Middle East.” Rounding out the cast are Kirke’s younger sister Lola, who plays her sister Tara in the film, as well as Ben Mendelsohn, Billy Crystal, Jennifer Grey, and Alice Eve. Tara, a massage therapist, is dating Mendelsohn’s Martin, a washed-up rock star, but soon becomes enchanted by Crystal’s character, a “charismatic rabbi” who invites her to “reconnect with her roots” at his synagogue.

Ahead of Untogether‘s Tribeca Film Festival debut last April, the Kirkes spoke to W about working together onscreen. Jemima described how writer-director Emma Forrest came up with the idea to cast the real-life sisters in her feature film debut after hearing Jemima talk about Lola. “That’s when her eyes lit up. She was like, ‘I’m not going to tell you now, because I’m going to think about this, but I think I have a really good idea,'” she said. Lola added, “I was really excited by the prospect of it, because I think it’s rare that you see people play sisters who actually are sisters.”

“Untogether” has a release date!

Can’t wait to get to see this movie and now we have a date, February 8, 2019 it should begin to be available!

Byron Allen’s Freestyle Digital Media has picked up the North American distribution rights to Untogether, the Emma Forrest directorial debut film starring Jamie Dornan (50 Shades Of Grey), Jemima Kirke (HBO’s Girls), Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One), Lola Kirke (Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle), and Billy Crystal (When Harry Met Sally). Premiering earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival, the dramatic comedy will have a day-and-date release on February 8.

Written by Forrest, the story follows Nick (Dornan) and Andrea (Jemima Kirke) whose one nightstand evolves into something more. He’s a doctor and author whose heroics in the Middle East gained him international fame. She is a writing prodigy fully consumed with destructive vices, navigating Los Angeles without a driver’s license or credit card and sharing a home with her sister Tara (Lola Kirke), who is dealing with relationship issues of her own. Tara slowly slips away from her boyfriend Martin (Mendelsohn), who gave up his Australian fame as a rock ‘n’ roll god to be with her. Her way of acting out is to lose herself in religion and seek solace in a charismatic Rabbi (Crystal).

New interview with Jemima and Lola by W Magazine

New interview with Jemima and Lola by W Magazine

Jemima and her sister Lola Kirke who stars in Untogether together was interviewed by W Magazine, read the full interview in our press archive and view a lovely new photoshoot taken at the Roxy Hotel in New York.

Lola Kirke has just emerged from 10 days’ vocal rest. “I have a hemorrhage on my vocal cords,” she told me recently. “From screaming at me,” explained her sister, Jemima Kirke. It was a late spring morning, and the two sibling actors sat side by side in a vacant hotel room in downtown Manhattan; later that evening, their new film Untogether, writer-director Emma Forrest’s narrative feature debut, was slated to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

“From screaming at Jemima in a scene, but maybe it’s possible that 27 years of rage were coming out,” Lola went on. “Twenty-six, at the time,” her sister corrected.

“This was the best part about it though,” Jemima continued, before Lola cut her off. “The scene got cut.” Jemima corrected her again: “That’s the second-best part,” she said. (They have the distinctly sibling tendency of annotating each other’s stories in real time.) “The first-best part is that you wanted another take, but they kept wanting to move on, right?” Due to the time and budget constraints of making an independent film, there weren’t the resources to do the scene again. “She’s like, ‘Well, maybe if you showed up on time, we would have time for another take,’” Jemima recalled. “I was like, ‘Give the bitch another take.’” And they did—and that’s when Lola burst the blood vessel, after the first take and before the scene was cut entirely. (“You’re Adele!” Jemima remarked.)

“Which goes to show that anger only ever hurts you,” Lola said, affecting the sing-song tone of an after-school special. “So good! So good.”
